I don't think schools should concern themselves with 'cross-curricular planning' until they have sorted out the planning within the disciplines they are keen to connect. Each child needs to understand the subjects so they can approach the interdisciplinary work with suitable awe.

Primary school lessons on climate change: ‘children taught to produce protest letters and banners’ - firstly, this doesn’t sound like lessons on climate change and, secondly, ‘protest’ sanctioned by schools isn’t ‘protest’... https://t.co/jo2P8NCI55

Magna Carta Primary Academy has a Local Governing Board (LGB) which is actively involved in all aspects of school life. It is the responsibility of the Local Governing Board to ensure that all members of our school community are safe and have equality of opportunity in line with this policy and our Equality and Diversity Policy.

The Local Governing Board works with school staff to support school improvement and monitor the impact of projects and initiatives.

The Local Governing Boards in BMAT take seriously their responsibility under section 175 of the Education Act 2002 to safeguard and promote the welfare of children; and to work together with other agencies to ensure adequate arrangements within our Trust to identify, assess, and support those children who are suffering harm.

These documents contain information on what schools and colleges should do and set out the legal duties with which schools and colleges must comply in order to keep children safe
