Please share this. This needs to be praised. We are all so quick to hear about negativity so let’s celebrate the good things. https://t.co/QVs2ELwFos

Growth mindset isn’t something that can be taught through discreet lessons. It’s in teachers’ responses to pupils. It’s in teachers’ expectations. Just like inference can’t be taught discreetly, someone’s mindset is developed through their experiences & relationships. https://t.co/JlgNOF81E1

Extracurricular Activities

A ship in port is safe, but that is not what ships are for. Sail out to sea and do new things.      Grace Hopper

At Magna Carta we offer a range of extracurricular clubs and activities. Sports clubs are free to parents; we use the PE and Sport Premium funding we receive from the Department for Education. Other clubs are free to parents because they are run by volunteers from the local community.

Extracurricular Music

We currently offer peripatetic singing and keyboard tuition to small groups. Sessions are paid for by parents, directly to the tutors. If you would like your child to join these groups, please contact reception@magnacartacademy.org for the tutors' contact details.

In singing lessons, the students learn basic singing technique, a range of repertoire to suit their age and voices,  and musicianship skills. We play music games, following the Kodály method, which teaches music through song and fun!

Keyboard lessons develop piano-playing skills, keyboard techniques, music reading and improvisation skills, all taught through a variety of fun activities and tunes that the children really enjoy playing.
