Job Vacancies for Pupils

'I never dreamed about success, I worked for it.' Estee Lauder

Our curriculum is not just about what happens during lessons. It is in everything we do and everything we say. It is also found in the experiences we give our pupils. One of our four drivers is to promote enterprise and aspiration. Therefore, as well as making links between our formal curriculum and the world of work, we also give our pupils opportunities to experience that world.

Currently, some pupils in Years 2 and 3 work as Lunchtime Supervisors. A job description and person specification was shared with pupils and anyone interested in the position was invited to apply. They were shortlisted and interviewed.
Application forms are on our Jobcentre Plus display in the hall, or can be downloaded from our website.

As new vacancies are added, they will be added to the website as well as the Jobcentre Plus notice board.  The purpose of these jobs is for our pupils to experience writing an application, having an interview (as well as to know how it feels not to be selected for interview), and of course, to have a sense of pride in themselves for a job well done.

We will not (and cannot) pay children in money, however, they will earn one Dojo for Enterprise for each successful shift and depending on the job, they will receive a book as their reward for completing a certain number of shifts.
